Candis Celebrates: International Women’s Day 2020

This year, the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD) on Sunday 8 March 2020. The theme is Each for Equal and focuses on equality in the business world. Equality in business can have a positive impact on the economy. Each for Equal calls for you to share your message about equality. You can impact the whole through your individual actions. IWD celebrates the achievements of women. The first IWD was celebrated in 1911 and has been celebrated on 8 March since 1913. It wasn’t until 1975 that IWD was first celebrated by the United Nations. Annual themes were adopted in 1996 with the first theme being ‘Celebrating the past, Planning for the Future’.
